Cafe Roze: An All Day Cafe
Nashville is known for hot chicken, barbecue, and country music. It’s not so known for its all day cafes–at least until Cafe Roze came onto the scene. This cozy spot was opened by an NYC transplant who missed the look and feel of the breakfast-lunch-dinner spots in the city, and now we all get to enjoy it.
I like to grab a seat at the bar and enjoy my breakfast before everyone wakes up on the weekends. There are fun drinks on the menu like the Black Sesame Steamer and the Turmeric Cooler, but I always opt for the plain latte. This week I went for the stout waffles, and I wasn’t disappointed. The just-sweetened mascarpone and fruit was the right touch for the almost savory, nutty waffles.
The space is tucked away in one of East Nashville’s quiet neighborhoods. There’s plenty of free street parking, which is great in case you just wanted to grab a coffee to-go. And if you ever end up there early on a Saturday morning, I’ll be at the bar.
