My favorite Memphis lunch

I live in Nashville, and my sister lives in Ridgeland, Mississippi. When we want to meet up, Memphis is the perfect half-way point. We’ve done our fair share of lunch dates, but Soul Fish Cafe is the one place I always want to come back to.

You can’t go wrong with the catfish. Blackened, fried, or grilled, it’s going to be the best you’ve had. I prefer mine on a po-boy. For my side, I always have a hard time deciding between the fried okra and the pickled green tomatoes. If I’m hungry enough I’ll go for both.

There are 6 locations now (4 in Memphis alone, if that tells you anything about the appetite for good southern food), but none of them are in Nashville. Until then, I’ll be more than happy to make the trek to Memphis every now and then to grab lunch at Soul Fish… and see my sister.
