Chocolate Pecan Scones
When I have a boring Friday night in (my actual favorite kind of night), I scour the internet for a recipe I’ve never made before. Lately I’ve gotten really into baking, and I’m trying to expand my skillset there. My grandmother was an amazing baker, but she died when I was 11 so I never got a chance to truly learn from her, though we did spend lots of time in the kitchen together.
I don’t watch Ina Garten, but I do watch the Bon Appetit Youtube channel. Ina popped up on a video awhile ago with these scones, and I’ve been thinking about them ever since. I used to work in a bakery (front of house, not back), and one of the things I miss the most is the scones. I never thought to make them before because of how much time I spend convincing the people around me that they aren’t biscuits, but this time I decided to go for it.
I love having a marble countertop, and rolling out the dough on my counter is always a highlight of any night spent baking. Thankfully, the scones were just as fun to eat as they were to make. Unfortunately, I made 22 for a two person household, so a few friends got scone deliveries the this morning.
