A Simple Snack

I can’t stop eating

I’ve had labneh many times. I’ve had chili crisp many times. I had never combined them, but now I can’t stop. The thick, creamy, and cool labneh is a perfect mate for the savory-spicy chili oil, and any literally any kind of bread (or crunchy veg like carrots) is great for dipping.

Speaking of bread–Nashville has the largest Kurdish population in the United States. Because of that, we have some pretty fantastic Kurdish markets. They have lots of ingredients you can’t find anywhere else in Nashville, perfect baklava, and very very good bread called samoon.

I’ve been thinking of all the ways I can eat my new favorite snack besides scooping too much onto a warm piece of bread. I may smear it on a bagel sandwich or serve it topped with broccolini. Or I may just keep eating it with my hands.
