Nashville’s Al Pastor

Al pastor tacos are my favorite. My favorite favorites are from Los Tacos No. 1 in NYC. Unfortunately, I do not live in NYC, and I don’t think I’ll be traveling there until the pandemic is under control. Because of that, I began to search for Nashville’s best al pastor.

What I found out is there is not much al pastor in Nashville—at least not much made traditionally on the rotating spit (trompo al pastor). I was thrilled when I saw an Instagram post from Tacos Aurora with their pork and pineapple marinating on the spit.

Though I don’t think they’re as good as Los Tacos, Tacos Aurora definitely scratches my itch for al pastor. I’ll be munching on these at least once a week for the rest of the summer.
